This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Rank ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit thedailyrank.com or any of our affiliated review pages.

1. Scope & who we are

Daily Rank operates an independent product-review website that ranks consumer products through hands-on testing and editorial analysis. This policy applies to thedailyrank.com and any subdomain we control (for example, www.thedailyrank.com). It does not apply to third-party sites we link to, including retailer sites such as Amazon — those sites have their own privacy practices.

The data controller for information collected on this site is Daily Rank Media LLC, registered in the United States. You can reach us at privacy@thedailyrank.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect three categories of information:

2.1 Information you provide to us

  • Email address — when you subscribe to a newsletter or submit the partner-application form on the homepage.
  • Free-text content — any message you include in a form submission (e.g., a partnership pitch).

2.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Device & browser data — IP address, browser type, operating system, screen resolution.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, referring URL, exit page.
  • Approximate location — derived from your IP address at the country/city level. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates.

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Analytics — anonymized page-view events from Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
  • Affiliate networks — anonymized click IDs and (in some cases) hashed email addresses used to attribute a sale back to a referral.

3. How we use your information

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • To deliver and improve our reviews and rankings.
  • To respond to direct inquiries (e.g., partnership requests).
  • To send newsletters if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.
  • To attribute sales correctly when a visitor clicks an affiliate link and completes a purchase on the retailer's site.
Editorial promise: We never sell your personal information to data brokers, and we never share your email with advertisers.

4. Cookies & similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. They fall into three buckets:

  • Strictly necessary — remember your cookie-consent choice, security tokens, load-balancing cookies.
  • Analytics — anonymized traffic measurement via Google Analytics 4. We have IP-anonymization enabled.
  • Affiliate — first-party cookies set when you click an outbound link so the retailer can attribute the sale. They expire within 24–48 hours.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking affiliate cookies will not prevent you from using the site; it only prevents us from earning a commission if you make a purchase.

5. Affiliate links & third-party tracking

This site is reader-supported. When you click a product link on Daily Rank and purchase something from the linked retailer (commonly Amazon), the retailer may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is unchanged.

  • Affiliate cookies are first-party and contain a unique identifier — not personal information.
  • Some affiliate networks use a hashed email (if you are logged into the retailer) to attribute repeat purchases. You can opt out of this by using the retailer's own privacy controls.
  • We currently participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other retailer-specific affiliate programs.

6. Sharing & disclosures

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With service providers (hosting, analytics, email delivery) bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • With affiliate networks solely to attribute a sale.
  • When required by law, subpoena, or to protect our legal rights.
  • In connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, sale of assets), with notice to you.

7. Your rights (CCPA / GDPR)

If you are in California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your data, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Object to processing for direct marketing or legitimate-interest purposes.
  • Port your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for processing that relied on consent).

8. Data retention

We retain different categories of data for different periods:

  • Server logs: 90 days, then aggregated.
  • Analytics events: 14 months at the user level, then aggregated.
  • Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • Partnership inquiries: up to 24 months, for record-keeping.

9. Children's privacy

Daily Rank is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated "Effective" date. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice (e.g., a banner on the homepage) for at least 30 days.
